That would basically be the same as like spamming, which has no consequence, so I'd assume that would be pretty much fine.

Because rainbows. Also cuts down on "I agree" posts when you can just be specific in your type of liking without more extreme social interaction. And the icons are pretty.
I mean in private conversations exclusively, seems like there is no point to it. Likes should be rewarded for contributing to the community. private convos dont contribute to the community
True. A private convo between just two or three people needs real interaction to exist. I'm sure it's just easier to have the entire forums as a package deal rather than picking the one place it didn't seem to be necessary. It might become useful. You might even use it
For my Olympics build, we had a whole 15+ page conversation going- and there were many posts that could have been cut down on if we had the ratings system implemented back then. And, in my opinion, the conversation did contribute to the community
