Hard Survival has been reset for December, and it has been made easier this month so that more people can enjoy the adventure there together! Make a snowman, have a snowball fight, open presents, and explore! Happy Holidays everyone!
Also, please give a special thanks to @trubuhl for this month's reset, as he did the troll's share of work on it! Thank you @trubuhl!

Hello everyone,
The Sandlot now supports Minecraft 1.16.4 clients. Under the hood, all 1.16 servers are still running 1.16.3, but that shouldn't be a big deal, because no new server-side/gameplay features were added in this latest version.
The main new feature added to Minecraft 1.16.4 is a new Social Interactions Screen. We need to talk about this, and what it means for the moderator team, our helpers, and the community as a whole.
The new Social Interactions Screen can be opened, by default, by pressing the P key. This new screen will show a list of all players currently on The Sandlot, though only in the server you are currently in.
Note: On The Sandot, this list will show 80+ players, many having a ~BTLP prefix. These are "fake" players that are required to format our tab list in the way it is.
The main purpose of the new Social Interactions Screen is to mute or block players. While I could see this being useful on a large Minecraft server, I do not...

I am considering making some drastic changes to the Adventure server, and I would like to get your feedback on my ideas. I'm posting in the Announcements area for better visibility. I will outline each idea below with my reasoning behind the proposed change.
1. Remove VIPs ability to fly.
Rather than having infinite flight, I think it would be nice if flight was only granted as a special reward for a difficult task, and only given for a short time. Another idea would be to add a new magic wand or some other magic item that gives the power of flight (or perhaps levitation, since that is a vanilla Minecraft feature now).
2. Turn off invincibility and add food.
This will increase the difficulty, but I think it will make exploration more rewarding, and will give players a bigger incentive to level up their wands to gain more damage. It will also necessitate potions, and using things like golden apples and totems of undying. Keep Inventory would be kept ON so that dying isn't...

The Adventure server has been updated with the return of the Samhain adventure!
Follow the Jack o'Lanterns from the spawn area to reach the Samhain adventure. Explore and battle mobs as you make your way to the castle, where you will fight Lord Voldemort himself! Defeating him will grant you a ticket for a free cheracc costume!
You can find candy and Samhain Tokens along the way, which you can use to purchase Halloween fireworks from the villager near spawn, and to gear up along the way.
Enjoy, and please give a huge thanks to @LifeLearner and @waseric for working hard the last several weeks to revive this adventure for your enjoyment! Thanks guys!
Have fun!

The time has come to grab your golden boots, a diamond pickaxe, and a full stack of food, and set forth on a new nether adventure! Watch out for dangerous hoglins and be careful when looting chests near piglins! Find ancient debris, smelt it, and combine with gold to upgrade your tools and armor to the new top tier standard, Netherite!
Please read all the following information carefully so that we can all enjoy this new experience in the best way possible!
Nether Spawn
There is a new nether spawn area that you will be teleported to from the portal in the mall. From there, you will find a path and a staircase. The path will take you to the brand new wither fighting arena! The staircase will lead you up to the area where we will build nether tunnels, which can be used for quick travel. This is where everyone's murals will be built. I will need volunteers to help clear out the tunnels!
Please, please, please DO NOT blow up or destroy...

For long time Sandlot players, you will remember that I held a nether tunnel building competition for our old Easy server. I asked everyone to build a tunnel with specific dimensions and build restrictions, and then we had a community vote. The top 4 winners had their tunnels created in Easy and replicated for hundreds of blocks in each cardinal direction.
I want to do this again, but I want it to be more of a community project, where everyone can participate! Our nether tunnels in Easy will look awesome because you guys are all awesome!
All you have to do is build a 3D pixel art wall mural that has the following rules:

Hard Survival has been updated to 1.16.2 and the borders for all worlds have been increased from 2,500 radius to 3,000 radius. That should give you a decent chance to find some new nether biomes! Happy exploring, and make sure to equip some gold armor before heading into the new nether!

Normal Survival has been updated to Minecraft 1.16.2! Resource worlds have been reset! There's a bastion right by the nether resource world spawn area, so prepare yourselves for battle before going in! Happy exploring!
NOTE: I have not changed anything else in Normal Survival. Only resource worlds have been reset. We do plan on a full reset of Normal Survival at some point in the future, but that is a ways off.

Our marvelous founder @cheracc has been working very hard to update our Hunger Games plugin to support Minecraft 1.16.2, and I am proud to announce it is now available for play! We both feel it is stable enough to be our main Hunger Games server now, so everyone can enjoy it!
As cheracc already mentioned:
Everyone please give a huge thanks to @cheracc for his dedication on this! It's incredible!

Creative has been updated to Minecraft 1.16.2! Crimson Fungus, Blackstone, Warped Nylium, oh my!
All players may now enable redstone on their plot! Use /redstone to activate it. Redstone will not function unless the plot owner or an added player is in the plot.
You can now place up to 25 entities in your plot!
You can now search for and use just about any player head you can imagine! Use /heads search <search term> to find the perfect head you need to complete your decorative builds, or browse them all with /heads!
These heads are not created by The Sandlot! If you see any heads that are inappropriate, report them directly to me IMMEDIATELY! Thank you!
You can now adjust armor stands in many different ways! You can rotate them, pose them, give them arms, hide them, hide just the base, name them with nametags, and more! Create a battle scene or create a decorative wall with swords and shields on...
