There has been escalating drama, bullying, and name calling in the Arenas server. Frankly, I am appalled at the behavior I have seen and I expect better from all those involved. You know who you are.
I am closing all PvP servers until further notice.
EDIT: This is not permanent. This is until I see some behavior changes and everyone being treated with respect. Please take this time to re-read our rules and treat your fellow Sandlotians as you want to be treated.
EDIT 2: It's open again.

Hi everyone! I hope you are all enjoying time with friends and family over the holidays and that you go into the new year with renewed zeal to achieve your goals and dreams, both in and out of Minecraft.
I would like to lay out what my plans are for the coming year on The Sandlot. I will confess that I have not dedicated as much time to The Sandlot in the last couple years as I would have liked, and my New Year's resolution is to change that! We have many servers on old versions of Minecraft that need to be updated, and possibly reset. Below I am going to tell you a little bit about each server and what my plans are for upgrades this year.
Please keep in mind that all dates below are speculative, and this post is just meant to give you an idea where our priorities are. Additionally, when I say 1.15, what I really mean is whatever the current version of Minecraft is, with the caveat being whether or not there are plugin updates that will support that version....

Maintenance will begin at approximately 8pm Arizona time.
I will try and keep downtime to a minimum. It's nothing exciting, I am just updating the OS with security updates and updating some plugins, and allowing for 1.15 clients to join the server (we are NOT updating the server to 1.15 yet).
Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Hello everyone,
I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to inform you about this maintenance window earlier. I wasn't sure when I'd have time to work on this until now.
If you don't care about details, the important bit is this: All servers will be taken offline tonight around 10 pm Arizona time and will be offline until either 1. I finish the maintenance or 2. I get too tired. If option 2 happens, I'm really sorry but I will need to take the servers offline again on Saturday. I will keep you informed about the progress as I go.
Now for the details. We're getting an upgrade! After testing the 1.14 update, I have come to realize that our current server will not allow us to run more than a few 1.14 Minecraft servers, so I have decided to rent a brand new server with more performance than our current one. I am hoping that this upgrade will help and allow us to update everything to 1.14 eventually.
Our current server has the following:
Intel Xeon E5-1620v2 4c/8t - 3.7 GHz / 3.9 GHz...

I have opened a new survival test server on Minecraft version 1.14.4!
I'm sure you can barely contain your excitement, but please bear the following things in mind:
Your testing and feedback is critical to make our transition to 1.14.4 across all our servers a success. Please reply in this...
I'm sure you can barely contain your excitement, but please bear the following things in mind:
- This is a test server, so there will be bugs.
- Don't expect the server will always be available. It will be restarted randomly from time to time, or it may crash, and you may be kicked without warning.
- Nothing on the server will be saved long term. This is purely for testing out Minecraft 1.14.4 and our various plugins.
- Your inventory, homes/builds, shops, claims, and anything else may be deleted at any time without notice.
- You must be using Minecraft 1.14.4 to join the test server. You cannot use 1.14, 1.14.1, 1.14.2, or 1.14.3 (or anything earlier than 1.14 either).

The website and forums will be taken offline for maintenance this Thursday, July 18 at around 8:00 pm Arizona time. The downtime is expected to take several hours. During the downtime, the website, forums (including private conversation messages), store (for VIP purchases), live maps, new whitelist requests, and ban appeals will be unavailable.
When you visit www.sandlotminecraft.com in your browser, it will show an error. This is expected and will return to normal when the maintenance is complete.
All servers and gameplay will be online, available, and unaffected by this downtime.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Hi everyone,
I am terribly sorry to have to do this, but I need to take all our servers offline for pretty much the entire day. I am going to make offsite backups of all our servers and then have our hosting company replace our hard drives. I can't guarantee this will fix the problems we have been experiencing lately, but I hope that it does. I will keep you all updated throughout the day as I have more information. Please direct all bug reports and questions about servers being down or connection problems to this thread if people ask. Thank you.

Hello all you wonderful Sandlotians! I would like to wish each of you a happy 2019 full of friendships, family, and Minecraft fun!
This past year has been a very difficult one for me on a personal level, and I have not been able to give The Sandlot all the love and support that it needs. It doesn't help that Minecraft itself has changed dramatically and the server software and plugins we use have been met with lots of turmoil and uncertainty. (That's a fancy way of saying that a lot of the stuff we use has been abandoned or is taking forever to update.)
While we do have several new whitelist requests every week, I am also not blind to the fact that our server population is a lot smaller than it has been in the past. I am of the opinion that having fewer servers with more people is better for the community than lots of servers with few or no people in them. To be able to give you a fun experience on The Sandlot, I am therefore going to be making a few changes that are...

This is not a typical maintenance announcement. Our server Operating System (OS) requires an upgrade. I will have to take all servers offline for an extended period of time to perform the upgrade.
To prevent any data loss, I will need to take a full backup of all servers, worlds, maps, player data, etc. while the servers are offline and ensure the integrity of our offsite backups before the OS upgrade can begin. Our offsite backups are very slow, so after the servers are taken offline, it will take several hours to copy the backup offsite. Once the copy is completed and its integrity verified, I can begin the upgrade process, which will take (hopefully) about an hour. If all goes well, I can then bring all servers back online without issue.
If I run into major issues and have to restore our server data from our offsite backup, it may require several more hours of downtime. I don't expect there to be any problems since I have done this update before, but I...
