Happens to me a lot; try clicking on the 'hinge' of the door -- the part that stays in the same place whether the door is open or closed.
Yeah... The edge of the door. Click on the picture to view the full size, and check out where the arrow is pointing. Usually when I right-click on that part instead of the front of the door, it closes/opens.
That was happening to me in survival as well...really wonky! The fix for me was a pressure plate...door always closes now... yay!
Yesterday something was badly wrong with doors. Several locations had two bottom panels stacked as doors that alternated open and closed...finally resolved to normal door after about 20 cycles, then right back to weird... JackenKracken
I also find that when you place two privated doors next to each other, and one closes while the other one is open, and you can't get them to be in the same position, left-click on the one you want to fix. That should revert it to the same position as the other door and they will function correctly. (At least until someone else goes and left-clicks on the door again and messes it up )
