This is a great idea! A shame won't be able to make it Senior High School is also called College in some states/territories in Australia
We usually call it Uni (short for university), but some people call it College as well, which gets extremely confusing sometimes
Please get your information submitted at least one hour before the start of celebration. Sooner is better! We have had people send their information while the celebration was in-progress. I don't recommend that late submission, because then I have to scramble to get the information to c0wg0d and I miss part of the ceremony. Even worse, if you submit too late, you might miss your chance.
My parents said im not graduating this year, so i decided that i can throw a after-graduation party for the graduates and anyone else that wants to participate in the party! ( im going to have to plan quickly though )
Graduation is this Saturday! If you meet the criteria in the first message on this thread, and have not sent me your information, please do that soon. Even if you are not graduating, we hope you'll come celebrate with your friends!
So uh I have a very long question, basically the SA school system is very different to anywhere else in the world. Right now, I'm writing midyear exams, instead of end of year ones, so does that count as graduating? The other thing, is that in SA we have no middle school, primary school ends in grade 7 and high school starts in grade 8. I'm in grade 8, so here I'm just starting high school but in the US I would be finishing middle school Basically what I'm trying to say is I'm in the middle of my first year of high school but can I pretend I'm at the end of my last year of middle school? Not that it matters much bc the party would be in the middle of the night for me lol
I’d wait for Life to answer, but from what I understand- It doesn’t specifically matter what grade you’re graduating from, but rather, what level- so moving up from elementary to high school would be graduating, regardless of if it’s called grade 7 or grade 8 or anything else. Idk if thatd make you eligible to graduate (I didn’t know the South African system was so similar to the Canadian one though! We skip middle school as well)
Congratulations! Yes, you may be recognized at our celebration! As I understand this, you graduated this year. You are in the Southern Hemisphere, and thus on a different school calendar. Please send me the answers to these questions in a conversation. 1. What are you most excited to do in High School? A. particular courses of study B. specific extracurricular activities (sports, clubs, performance groups, etc.) 2. What is your dream job for the future? 3. What is your time zone? We can still recognize you at the celebration, if you cannot attend because of something trivial like, say, sleep. (Kidding! Sleep is very important! )
This was fun and so sweet. Thanks to all the mods and everyone who helped celebrate, and congrats to all the graduates!
I never saw this post until I was randomly looking at threads and found it now. Guessing its a bit late to aswer?
