App. for Elder rank... still applicable?

Hello!
I read the post on updates to the Elder rank earlier, and I'm wondering whether the same rules do still apply- that you can apply for the rank- because they were on the old forums. If so, is the application process simply posting some of your creations? And do you display the thread publicly or begin a conversation?

I've been told by multiple Elders and moderators that Elder is something you earn, not something you apply for, similar to Helper/mod.
Building skill is only one aspect of it. Trust and a good part in the community is a big deal here. One could be a wonderful builder, but rarely play and never help anybody out- not an Elder.

 

A rather long time ago there were posts from Cheracc and staff regarding an application process in the works for Elder, but it would seem to have been forgotten about.

Just wanna add that given svs's inactivity, and the renewed presence of kiss and c3, I don't see this as being a priority for decidedly overworked c0wg0d.
