so yeah the game keeps crashing when i try to join the server :/ UPDATE: i've fixed my problem. thank you for the help!
I've had a problem like this before, where the game crashed when I tried to come on 1.10. Does this happen only when you try to join the server? Or minecraft in General?
Are you on 1.10? I don't think it would completely crash even if you weren't, but you can never be too safe. Are you using mods/resource packs? If so, try disabling them. Check your internet connection.
You may have already done this, but if not, I'm here to help! This has happened to me many times before, don't just close minecraft, disconnect from the server, then go back to the main minecraft page, again don't just hit 'x', press 'Quit Game', then, reopen minecraft. Press multiplayer, spam 'Refresh' a few times, then don't double click 'Sandlot', click it once, then at the bottom, press 'Join Server.' Hope this works!
