Help for a newbie

I'm new to minecraft..

Is there a way to not be in PVP mode but in a place where there are monsters you can fight, animals you can adopt, and still create?

In all survival worlds plus Creative there isn't PVP, not counting the PVP arena's and HG worlds,

You can explore far out for animals and close them in a fenced area or make them a house and breed them by making a farm. You can kill monsters at the spawn of anything though in Creative spawn eggs are disabled.

 

Where do I find this "survival worlds plus Creative" area?

In the lobby, there are all the worlds.

 

In the lobby, do /spawn, andsigns will show the way.
