Horses - they were there and then they are all gone :(

    Just curious.... it appears all the horses in my area have despawned. (there were a minimum of 25 horses stretched over several chunks in my biome) They were all there yesterday, and today all of them are gone. :(

    Any ideas?

    Jewels, horses despawn when not in cages or not constantly next to players.
