Hi there, I have been watching my son play, and though it's not really breaking rules, there's some risque talking that I don't want him reading, people 'roleplaying'. I have looked all over, and when I search forum I just see about actual block protection. I didn't see it in commands either. Is there a way to block/squelch conversations? Specific people or channels? Thanks!
There is no way to avoid this, I'm afraid. However, If it really is a problem, I'd suggest that he stays away from creative (Where most, If not all, RPs take place) If that is too much of a problem, then he could turn off chat altogether. You can do this in the Chat settings
Also, if someone is being annoying/bugging/disturbing your son, you can always use /block *username*.
If you feel it is inappropriate, I would recommend you report those players in the Report a Player forum so we can look into it.
Do what c0w said if you feel it's inappropriate, you can also do /ignore (username) so you can't see their chat.
You can also talk to an admin (green or red name) a helper (a pinkish star next to name), or a senior helper (two pinkish stars next to name) in game if someone is being violent or you don't feel comfortable with your son reading the content.
Just to echo what everyone else says for emphasis. If someone on Sandlot is saying things that would offend you or your son, report them in the 'Report a Player' section of the forums or talk to any of the staff online. Moderator's names are in green, Helpers names have a pink asterisk, and Senior Helpers names have two pink asterisks. The Sandlot was created to be a family friendly environment, saying things that offend or upset people is not an appropriate thing to do. Please, if you see someone breaking the rules or being risque ask the staff for help. --- If all else fails, you can turn off chat, but I would really dislike for you to have to do something like that, as there are a lot of nice people on here. The same thing goes for the block and ignore commands. I'm sure they can be handy in some cases, but for the most part I would just try to work it out with the person or get help.
