Lantern turning to stone?

    We claimed a plot to build on, but when we try to use a lantern it just turns into a stone block. What am I doing wrong?

    What version of Minecraft are you in? Currently the sandlot only supports 1.12.2 and so we can't use lanterns and other objects that were introduced in later versions of Minecraft. We hope to upgrade to 1.14. or 1.15 later this year.
