Hi, so I have been trying to connect to java through an old computer, and the minecraft launcher does not seem to be working! I have watched many tutorial and I cant figure any out! I get the error message: ERR_UNKNOWN_URL_SCHEME It told me: Check you internet connection and try RELOAD again Wifi is at 3 bars, and I am an old macbook, if anyone knows how to fix this ploblem please let me know! The main thing said is "delete and reinstall" Could anyone tell me how to delete it?
I usually go to the Minecraft website and if you act like you are purchasing the game but are logged in you get the opportunity to repair or reinstall. That does the trick. It will update your launcher too.
There's a new launcher I heard, a lot of people are having issues with it... I think there's a place to download the old launcher. C0w posted a link a while ago... I'll see if I can find it in an edit EDIT: Found it! https://launcher.mojang.com/download/MinecraftInstaller.exe
Recently the launcher changed to one made by Microsoft. It was a soft update meaning you could choose at the time, but I believe you have to use the new one now. It's not much different from the old one and I'm already used to it.
I think this is false, I've been using the old one (because where do I even download the new one?) and it has full updates, new versions, snapshots, news, It works great for me.
