New Minecraft name, old nickname, VIP?

    My son changed his Minecraft name (without asking me first...oops) and now sees his old username as a nickname in Creative, but real name is his new name. I need to renew his VIP. Which name should I use? Will he still have access to his BC plots if I need to use his new name for VIP?

    His VIP expired yesterday, but when I enter his old name to get VIP again, it says it's not a valid Minecraft account...
