Hi, the kids and I are new to multiplayer minecraft and the server. We have many Questions about how it all works and in my case what some of the text speak is that I have seen. A couple to start with... How do you build in creative areas? I heard you had to claim a plot, but I don't know how. What is a spleef? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Welcome! I haven't been on creative much, and i forgot how to make a plot. So you'll just have to go into creative and ask how to make a plot. Spleef is where you are given shovels(and shears, but i don't know what they are for) and you have to break snow blocks and try to get the other players to fall into the lava, if your the last person standing, you win.
Welcome to the server! In Creative, all you need to do is type /plot auto and that will teleport you to the nearest available plot. You are free to build there. Typing /lobby will send you back the the lobby where you can select other worlds. You spawn with a shovel in a snow arena over lava, and break blocks underneath the other players. Don't fall in!! I hope you have fun here!
Thanks peeps... That's a great help already. So what other worlds are there and what can you do in them? We keep getting red writing which I quickly understood to be Warnings. Keep having to apologise to the powers that be. Oh and we keep getting stuck in worlds and /spawn or /lobby doesn't seem to work!! What's that all about? Cheers
There are two survival worlds: Easy and Semi-Vanilla. I suggest starting with eays since you are new to minecraft. There are pvp (person verses person) areas, with 1 on 1 battles, spleef, and capture the flag. and there are 4 Hunger Games servers. There is skyblock, which is about surviving with a limited amount of space to start out with. You start on a floating island with one tree, and a chest filled with numerous items in it. In Semi-Vanilla, when you have your starter rank, you can inly do /spawn once every thirty minutes. /lobby takes fifteen second to warm up, and you can't move or take any damage. That might be it.

Honestly how do the kids figure all this out, I'm struggling! My little one keeps shouting why can't i do this, or it won't let me do this Argh!!! I've claimed a plot of land for him now, but he's saying it is limited? I think he's trying to build a train track! So confused.com!!!!! Lol.
It is limited. He gets a square of land that he can build on, and some items are banned from use. If he's not a donatir, then he only gets one plot.
At the mo in creative world. I did /p auto to get a plot. No idea where it put me! Lol. Right... What "donation" are they looking for albinia? ------------ Now just been told torches are out and so is digging down!!!

It's almost like a membership on Club Penguin, fifteen dollars per month, which gives you extra privilages (like three plots in creative for example) Torches aren't out, and neither is digging down. If he can't put anything on his plot then he didn't claim it. try doing /plot info to see if it says he's the owner. If not, try /plot auto again and see if he can do it now.
