    Hello Sandlot community,

I have been jailed in the past week (I think) for posting a (fake) website link which was considered as advertising. I understand this and will not do it again. But that's not the point of the thread.

Since these events probably get logged, I probably have a file somewhere in your data that mentions that I have been jailed... How does it affect regular play? I know some servers where you actually lose perks you previously had before committing a mistake. Is the Sandlot one of them? Does this restrict me from doing several things? Because if I play on server, I'd like to have a blank slate to work on. Otherwise, it's not really worth playing if you don't have access to some things others do.

    Thank you for reading.

Manchot999, it won't affect regular play. It won't restrict you. Some moderators like @Kyukuro and @c0wg0d can answer that if it does. But I assure you, from what I know, it doesn't.

You will not lose any perks for committing a mistake. You will not lose any money, items, plots, or anything else in game. That being said, if a player continues to break rules, they may be subject to mutes (not being able to chat), temporary bans (not being able to play for a duration of time), or permanent bans (not being able to play on the Sandlot again). These are only for serious offenses, and consequences such as permanent bans are only for grave situations. If, let's say, a player repeatedly breaks rules after being told to stop, the punishment may increase each time.

As long as you learn from what you did before, you should be fine and be able to play on Sandlot as long as you wish. Everyone makes mistakes, so don't worry about it! =)

The only way it will be logged is if you were warned by a Moderator while in jail. This doesn't affect regular play at all. It only shows up on your behavioural record. Sending players to jail is simply a way for us to handle rule violations easily, and directly with the player.

Thank you for your kind and quick answers. However, I heard some rumours about only being able to become Helper (Not that I intend to do that, I'm just curious) if you have a clean player file. Is this true?

I believe that the moderators decide whether the mistake was major.(Not sure how to word this)

I think that becoming Helper is just the fact that you have matured and you want to serve and help the community. For example, maybe a kid may have said some bad stuff. Once they've been reprimanded, they have learned their mistake. Sandlot is here to provide a friendly environment for kids to learn how to treat others nicely and just have fun.

That kid could become a helper one day and could make this place we call home (online) a better one.

I agree with the questions asked. I have been temp banned for saying that something was scary(A music disk on MC) but I got unbanned. Does a temp ban restrict helper?

Having a prior ban, or warning, does not automatically prevent us from considering a player. We take into consideration what prompted the ban or warning, how long ago it was, and recent behavior.

If the ban was for a serious offense, (theft, griefing, hacking, exploiting, etc.), then we would have to be absolutely convinced that the player had changed.

If the ban or warning was for a lesser offense, (typographical error, spam, minor angry chat, etc.), then we would consider how long ago it occurred and the player's recent behavior.

We do believe in second chances and we recognize that players can mature over time. We cannot give precise answers for these questions, because each case is unique.

I've been in jail/lounge about 5 times (no joke) and I still became a helper. I also was banned once for an hour for caps. And I've been warned. So I don't think there is anything to worry about xd
