Maintenance will begin at approximately 10pm Arizona time and should be relatively brief.

All servers will be unavailable for a short time, and the rest of the maintenance window will require restarts several times on all servers. I will be online at the time and informing you via in-game chat when I need to restart a particular server. The maintenance will consist of security updates for the underlying OS and plugin updates.

@Erik_Riel Sometimes the server disconnects. Please wait for 30 minutes or so before posting messages like this.

Also, @c0wg0d always warns before he closes a server. He would not change the maintenance like that, and then not give a shutdown warning.

@sentai421 Maintenance lasts different times, depending what c0wg0d is working on. He cannot predict how long it will take, but know that he will work as quickly as he can while still doing a good job. Please be patient so we can continue to have an awesome place to play!

I got your msg @kevinaboyette and then the server went down. I'm blaming you therefore.

 

If you look at the link I posted it tells you what your local time will be for the maintenance.

 

Maintenance has been completed. Here are the highlights.

Java has been updated to the latest version 1.8.0_60 which should improve overall server performance.

The tab list plugin has been updated on all servers, which should improve performance drastically. Additionally, it will now show helper stars, VIP stars, and Elder stars next to players' names in the tab list. There appears to be a bug where sometimes moderators do not show up in the "Moderators" list now, which I will look into as soon as I can.

The pet plugin in the lobby has been updated to the latest version. This plugin is the reason the lobby is typically extremely laggy, so hopefully this new version will have better performance. If there are any issues with pets not working correctly, post them in the Bug Report forum.

VIPs can now use /ct in all survival worlds for a shortcut to a crafting table.

Depth Strider enchanted boots should now be usable in SVS without exhibiting the "rubber banding" effect.

Creative permissions have been fixed for setting plot flags and biomes, and new commands have been added for your convenience.

/timenoon - Set your plot to high noon
/timesunset - Set your plot to sunset
/timenight - Set your plot to nighttime
/timesunrise - Set your plot to sunrise
/timenormal - Remove the time flag so that time passes normally again
/gm0 - Set your plot to gamemode 0
/gm1 - Set your plot to gamemode 1
/gm2 - Set your plot to gamemode 2
/wclear - Set your weather to clear. If it's raining in the rest of the world, your plot will have magical sunshine!
/wrain - Set your plot to rain/snow, based on the biome.
/wnormal - Remove the weather flag so that the weather in your plot matches the rest of the world.
(Gamemode 3, a.k.a. Spectator mode, is not available any longer because people were using it to circumvent the /tptoggle command and teleport to players who were in secret plots/areas.)

Also please note that the Creative plot plugin switched their command syntax around. It used to be /plot set flag x, but now it is /plot flag set x. If you are getting an error about incorrect permissions, it is likely that you have the command wrong.

Creative, Hardcore, Lobby, Lounge, Parkour, and Skyblock have all been updated to the latest Minecraft 1.8.8 release, and most of the core plugins we use have been updated on all servers as well. If you see any new and strange behavior in any worlds, please post them in the Bug Report forum.
