Parkour will be under maintenance in order to implement all the new changes. There will be another announcement soon about the relaunch. The server is being reset and relaunched, but we will keep the same spawn and nearly all the same courses. Will the leaderboards be reset? Yes, the leaderboards will be reset. The record times are still documented on forums, however. Will my levels and progress be reset? Yes. However, you can get more levels by playing courses with your friends! What new changes are there? Color coded course signs. This has been a feature for a little while now, but course signs in the Easy, Norm, Hard, and Cray lobbies are now visible and are color coded based on their difficulty. Green are the easy courses, yellow are normal/intermediate, and red are harder courses. This is helpful for seeing the difficulty of a course within the Easy, Norm, Hard, and Cray difficulties. Optional tutorial/training course. Players will no longer need to complete the tutorial in order to do other courses. Instead, there will be an optional training course, where players can learn how to do many jumps that are common in Easy, Norm, Hard, and Cray courses. New ranks! Parkour will have 13 new ranks! For some ranks, you will be able to complete a course to be rewarded that rank. For example, you can get the Expert rank by completing SuperPrincePro. YOOOO I cannot wait!!! All of this sounds so amazing Llama! rip my 2400 levels— Do I at least keep my $1m I do have a question though, are the parkour ranks from specific courses replacing the ones based on levels, or are we keeping both? And if we're keeping both, do the new ranks override the old ones when you get them?
It is under maintenance, but parts of it are being reset due to the changes in 1.20, such as parkour not working the same with honey, soulsand, netherrack, etc. Additionally, we're getting a change in the ranking system to freshen things up a bit, so now you will get your ranks from completing specific courses as opposed to beating any course several times
Actually, your ranks will still come from completing courses, which gives you levels. However, completing certain courses can set you at a higher level.
@TheHuman5000 @Firepyth I added the ranks under the new ranks section. Hopefully it makes more sense now. All ranks are still obtained the same way as now, which is by completing courses. However, there is an option to get a higher rank by completing a very hard course. (completing nyankour3, for example, sets your level at 2000, but you can also get to level 2000 the traditional way by just doing tons of courses. Do you have ideas for which courses should give more ranks, too?
Added this to the top Parkour will be under maintenance in order to implement all the new changes. There will be another announcement soon about the relaunch. The server is being reset and relaunched, but we will keep the same spawn and nearly all the same courses. Does that make more sense now? We're keeping the same spawn area and mostly the same courses. Besides that, everything will be reset.
So a player with prior proficiency in parkour could complete 'certain' higher level courses right away and get their high rank back? they would not have to complete any of the easier courses? and does that include their money balance with the higher level, or does that come with completing many courses or higher level courses multiple times?
Of the active players, only around 5 or 6 have completed nyankour3. All of those players have completed all other courses multiple times. All players will still have to reach level 36 (the minimum level for cray courses). Currently, the rank you have doesn't always indicate skill. Giving ranks by completing certain courses seems like a fairer or more accurate way of rewarding ranks based on skill, in addition to just completing tons of courses. It also encourages players to work their way up to the harder courses to get higher ranks instead of playing the same courses over and over. The money/economy system is the same as before.
It's nice to see these changes take place! I'm looking forward to it. I will miss my ~3000 level, but it makes sense given some of the other changes to level-building.
