When I, my wife, and our oldest child all got whitelisted, and year and a half ago, the process was different and it is now. You just had to fill out the online form. But, now I have a younger child for whom we've recently gotten a minecraft account, and I want to get him whitelisted.

Looking at the FAQ, I see the current recommended process suggests making an account matching the in-game name you have. But, since I already have an account, I'd like to avoid making another ostensibly for my child who won't be using the web site at all anyway. Can I fill out a new username/email address for his mojang account somewhere and get him whitelisted?

    Let me know. Thanks!

Sorry Chris/cross but I think this won't be possible. About 9/10 of the people who sign up never come back on forums, so an inactive account is totally ok. I am not a moderator, so I'm not 100% sure though.

    Hi there!

Because the process in now different, you'll have to make another account for your younger child. You nor your child will have to use the account to play on the server.

Well, because my wife and other son don't have web/forum accounts, I didn't think they were unavoidably linked. But, if it's the only way, that's fine. I can do that.

    Thanks for answering my question!

    Hi cross,

As you saw, our whitelist process is different now. We do require that all new accounts have a forum account as well. Thank you for your understanding and for adding a new Minecrafter to our community!
