    What is Bedrock Account Linking?

With Bedrock Account Linking, a Sandlot player who owns both a Java Edition and Bedrock account can link the two accounts. Once linked, the Sandlot player can connect to the Sandlot using either of their linked Bedrock or Java Edition accounts, but will always appear to the Sandlot servers and other users as the Java Edition account.

Bedrock Account Linking is good for:

    - users who would like to use bedrock with their Java account, but do not want to maintain an alternate account (alt).
    - skipping the normal whitelisting process (for a Bedrock alt)
    - connecting to the same Sandlot user and inventory, regardless of device

Bedrock Account Linking is not good for:

    - users who want to use their Bedrock account as a second account on the Sandlot
    - users who do not have a Java Edition minecraft account
    - users who want to use their Bedrock account from Java Edition

Bedrock Account Linking is the only option Sandlot has to support users who have the same Java Edition and Bedrock user name.

    With Bedrock Account Linking:
    • You do not submit a whitelist request for your Bedrock account.
    • You must have a whitelisted Java edition account.
    • You do not have a separate forums account for your Bedrock account.
    • You use the Sandlot as your Java Edition account (whether you use Bedrock or Java).
    • Other Sandlot users will see you as your Java Edition account, regardless of whether you are using Bedrock or Java.
    • Your Bedrock account will not be whitelisted on the Sandlot. If you unlink your Bedrock account from your Java Edition account, your Bedrock account will not be able to connect to the Sandlot.
    • A moderator will need to help you get set up.

If your Bedrock Account has already been independently whitelisted on the Sandlot):
    • You can still choose to link your Java and Bedrock accounts.
    • Your Bedrock account will still be whitelisted if you decide later to unlink your accounts.
    • You will need to go through the normal whitelist process for the Java account you wish to link, if it is not already whitelisted.
    • You will not be able to access your Bedrock account's inventories or claims while they are linked.

Link your Bedrock and Java Accounts

Here are the steps you need to take to link your Java and Bedrock accounts. Please read through it completely before you get started.

    Get your account details together.
This is important. When you ask a moderator to (temporarily) whitelist your bedrock account, you want to make sure you have the right account.

1 Check your Bedrock account at https://mcprofile.io
Search for the bedrock user name you're going to link. Is that you?

2 Check your bedrock account name at https://www.minecraft.net/msaprofile
Does the username in the upper left corner match your bedrock account?

Check to see if your Bedrock Account is whitelisted.
    3. Connect to the Sandlot as your Bedrock account. If you are not whitelisted, you will see a message that says you are not whitelisted on this server. Even if you know your bedrock account is not whitelisted, make sure you connect and see this error.

Ask a moderator to temporarily whitelist your Bedrock account (if it is not already whitelisted).
    4. If you have already been whitelisted, you do not need a moderator. Move to the next section. However, if you already use your Bedrock Edition account as your main user, you will no longer have access to it once it is linked. You may want to self-migrate inventories and balances (see the next post).

    5. Ask a moderator in game to temporarily whitelist your bedrock account. You should be certain what your bedrock name is (first step above), and you should have already tried to connect to the Sandlot and gotten the above error. Make sure you have at least 15 minutes to complete the process before asking the moderator to help.

Link your bedrock and java accounts
    6. Log in with your Java Edition account and type in the command /linkaccount .bedrockuser

You will receive a command to run from your bedrock account. Note the 4 digit pin!

    7. Log in with your bedrock account and type in the command /linkaccount javauser 1234
    upload_2024-2-18_18-58-13.png

If it works, you will be disconnected after being shown a message saying that you are successfully linked.

(If it did not work, ask for help!)

    8. Connect again using Bedrock.
If you are still connected with Java Edition, you will see an error:
    upload_2024-2-18_19-2-41.png

Otherwise, you will be logged in as your Java Edition account

If your bedrock account was temporarily whitelisted to enable account linking, make sure to tell the moderator who helped you that you're all set!

I'm slightly confused about a tiny detail. In the first pic, it showed you as Steve, and in the second, it showed you having a skin (which from what i can tell, is your java skin) so will i see myself having the java skin, or the bedrock skin (when in 3rd person)?

Java and Bedrock store and configure skins differently.
The "Steve" skin you see for the bedrock account is there because I had not set a skin on that Bedrock client for that Bedrock acccount (xbox account formeric).

Although the Sandlot sees a linked Bedrock account as the Java Edition user (and pulls the skin from a different online source), your Bedrock client still sees you as your Bedrock account.

What you see in your Bedrock client will tend to favor the skin you have configured locally, except in cases where it shows the skin the Sandlot sends to your client. I'm afraid I can't get more specific here (because I don't know yet).

Shorter form of the above is, your results will vary, but your Bedrock client will tend to favor the skin you have configured locally.
