The Sandlot - A Family-Friendly Minecraft Community

I have reopened Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry on our all new Adventure server!

The Adventure server is only featuring Hogwarts for now, but when we have holiday themed events and new adventures, they will take place in the Adventure server rather than the lobby.

You can get to the Adventure server from the gate in the lobby, which is now open for business.

Everything should be exactly how you left it in our old lobby, including your inventory, enderchest contents, magic wand levels, pets, and costumes. The server has been updated to 1.11.2, and I have fixed the Spacetime wand teleportation as well.

If you have any bugs with the new Hogwarts, please let me know by replying to this thread. Thanks, and watch out for Voldemort! Wizards unite!

I would like to proudly introduce a new map to our HungerGames map rotation: Project Empire!



This map was built by @GrassPelt, @chesswiz500, and z_man1000! It will be featured as the only map in rotation for a few days so people can learn the map, develop strategies, and find any bugs/issues they have with the map.

Our new lobby is now live!



This new lobby is much easier to navigate and should get you into a server and playing your favorite games fast. Try out the new jump pads!

We will add more fun things to do in the lobby in the future, but we felt it was important to launch it as is now to make sure everything else works as you would expect. Please report any bugs or issues you see with the new lobby and I'll get them fixed ASAP.

I wanted to re-launch Hogwarts on the new Adventure server along with the new lobby, but I ran into several issues while updating the map to 1.11.2. I hope to have this resolved soon, and I am working hard to make sure everything works just as before in the lobby, including your inventories, enderchest contents, and shopkeepers. The main issues I am having right now relate to the magic wands and pets. Please have patience as I work through these...

I have added a new VIP feature in Creative for those of you that like participating in roleplay. You can now use the following command to set a roleplay name:

/rpname <name>

After using this command, all messages you type into chat will be prefixed with your roleplay name.



To clear your roleplay name, use the following command:

/rpname reset

After a lot of research, discussion, feedback, more discussion, plugin searching, code writing, more feedback, and a dash of hair pulling, Sandlot Hardcore is back!



We didn't want to launch another survival server that was simply more difficult than SVS, but otherwise the same. The aim of this relaunch is world exploration, staying alive, and having friendly competition amongst friends.

We aren't expecting you to build a giant castle with regen beacons that eliminate any obstacles to survive. Instead, we have modified the core Minecraft experience in several ways to encourage staying on the move and exploring.

General Gameplay

The core Minecraft gameplay has been modified on Sandlot Hardcore in the following ways:

• The difficulty is set to HARD.
• The overworld, nether, and end are all 5000x5000 blocks.
• Your health will not regenerate by eating.

Renewal Price Increase

Our operating costs when cheracc last updated the VIP payment info were around $2,000 per year. With the expansion of Build Battle and Skywars, that cost is now nearly $3,000 per year. As such, we are very slightly increasing the renewal price from $5.65 to $5.95.

Current VIP Players

If you currently have a subscription set up, you will need to cancel that subscription via PayPal, and renew by selecting the Sandlot VIP (Renewal) package that costs $5.95. This is very important! If you don't update your subscription, the money will continue going to cheracc and sit unused in his account instead of benefiting The Sandlot...

What is Skywars?

Skywars is a Player-versus-Player gamemode that starts each player on an island with a few supplies. You can build your way to another player's island, or to the center for extra loot, but don't get knocked off or you lose! The last player (or team) alive wins the game!

How do I get to Skywars?

Enter the Arenas server from the lobby, then go through the water portal just outside the spawn ship, where Hide and Seek used to be.

How do I play?

To start, we have 4 arenas available. Two are solo arenas and two are team arenas. There is a wall inside the spawn house with join signs. You can right click the sign for the arena you want to join, or you can use the diamond axe in your inventory to bring up a Graphical User Interface...

The Sandlot went through many changes and updates over the last year.

Can you believe we celebrated our 5th birthday?! I'm so humbled to be a part of this amazing community that @cheracc made into a reality 5 years ago for his nephews. The growth and commitment of our players is astounding, and I look at all of you not as internet strangers, but as my friends that I've grown to cherish over my last 3+ years here as a community member, helper, moderator, and administrator.

In 2016, we finally supported name changes both on the server and on the forums. We also updated our website with a gigantic set of Minecraft smilies, a new post ratings system, a new set of forum trophies to strive for, automatic name syncing with the Lobby in-game, and a new ban appeal process.

We said farewell to the previous Semi-Vanilla Survival map, launching a brand new one with a magnificent Atlantis spawn, built entirely in survival, as well as beautiful and fun spawn...
