The Sandlot - A Family-Friendly Minecraft Community

Maintenance will begin at approximately 10pm Arizona time and should be relatively brief.

All servers will be unavailable for a short time, and the rest of the maintenance window will require restarts several times on all servers. I will be online at the time and informing you via in-game chat when I need to restart a particular server. The maintenance will consist of security updates for the underlying OS and plugin updates.

Rental shops are now fully automated, no longer requiring moderators to "unlock" them for you to use them. This is a detailed explanation of how they work so there will be no confusion.

Shop Types

We have three different types of shops.

Mall Shops

Mall shops are small, affordable shops that you can rent in the main shopping mall building directly adjacent to the bank. They contain 2-5 chests in each shop, and their price is $1 per chest, per week. So, for example, a shop with 3 chests costs $3 per week to rent.

Mall shops cannot be "built" on or modified in any way. What you see is what you get.

Large Shops

Large shops are free standing buildings to the east of the mall. They contain 25 chests each, and cost $25 per week to rent.

Build Shops

Build shops are flat plots denoted with stone slab flooring, located to the west...

For starters, you now can insert Minecraft block images directly in your posts using the Smilies button! Click the Smilies button, then click the Minecraft Building Blocks tab, then click on the block you want to put in your post. Here's a picture of what you should see when you go to make a post:

I know that many of you had a tough time figuring out how to upload your pictures to imgur.com, or your parents wouldn't let you. Now you can directly upload images right in your post from your computer! To do this, you should now see a button that says Upload a File at the bottom of the new post area. Click that, find the...

I am going to be updating the website and forums (what you're looking at right now) at some point this weekend, so don't panic if the website doesn't load.

We are aware that we are pretty far behind on adding your parkour courses to the Parkour server, therefore we are going to stop taking new entries for the foreseeable future. If you are already in the process of building a course, you have until Sept. 1 to finish it and post it on the submission thread here: http://www.sandlotminecraft.com/index.php?threads/post-your-parkour-courses-here.20839/

Entries submitted after Sept. 1 will not be added, but everything submitted before that date will, provided the quality is good enough to make the cut.

UPDATE: If your plot was substantially damaged, please post the coordinates (not the plot ID) of your plot and a moderator will try and fix it as soon as possible.

If we get a substantial number of reports, please be patient as we work through them all. If you can easily rebuilt anything lost, please do that instead so the moderators are not bogged down with more requests than we can handle. Thank you.

Last night's backup was restored, so at most you will be missing whatever you built in Creative today. We are sorry for any inconvenience this causes you and thank you for your patience and understanding in resolving this matter.

Hi everyone,

I have updated the plugin that updates your forum avatar to your current Minecraft skin, so hopefully it will update properly for those of you who were having trouble getting skin updates to show up.

Additionally, I wrote a script that automatically updated every account that didn't have a proper skin to have one now, which should mean a lot less male/female symbols for avatars. As a friendly reminder, do not attempt to update your forum avatar yourself. If you do, it will "break" and you will get a generic male or female symbol as your avatar and it will never update properly to your skin unless I fix it myself by running the script I wrote again.

I know all of this is confusing, so if you have questions let me know.

I have increased the Easy world size by 1000 blocks in each direction. The total size now is 10,000x10,000 blocks. I shall hear no complaints about there being "no land left to claim."
