Hi everyone!
It seems like the no kit, no shop HG5 we setup has been a hit, so we are going to rework the servers some. Here is what will happen:

- HG1 will be unaffected.
- HG2 will become the new HG5 with no kits and no shop.
- HG3 will be unaffected.
- HG4 will also have kits and the shop removed. Pure PvP from scratch! Who can make an iron sword the fastest?!
- HG5 will be removed for server performance reasons.

Tomorrow, Microsoft will be releasing Windows 10 for free to one billion devices. It's pretty awesome. To coincide with the release of Windows 10, Mojang is releasing a new version of Minecraft built specifically for Windows 10. Here is what you need to know.
Will I be able to play on The Sandlot with this version of Minecraft?
No.
Is it free?
Yes, it is free if you currently own the PC/Mac/Linux version of Minecraft (which all of you do, because that's what you need to play on The Sandlot). All you have to do is create a Microsoft account (if you don't have one already) and claim the game. If you don't have the PC/Mac/Linux version of Minecraft, you can buy this new version from the Windows 10 store for $10 during the beta period.

SVS now has a resource world! The only way in is using the Resource World warp sign by the nether portals at spawn, and the only way out is by using the SVS warp sign at the Resource World spawn point. /spawn, /home, and /sethome cannot be used in the Resource World.
The new world is 5000x5000 blocks and should have all available ores. Do not build in this world unless you don't care about its loss. The resource world will be reset from time to time based on community feedback.

This Saturday, July 18, get ready to enjoy a brand new Creative 1.8 experience!
Creative? We already have that. What's the big deal?
As most of you know, Creative is one of The Sandlot's most popular servers. It's a great place to build amazing structures without worrying about resource collection, a fun place to hang out with friends and goof off, and whether you like it or not, role playing is a huge part of our Creative server.
Not only is the Creative server being updated to version 1.8, but we are getting an entirely new plot plugin that gives a whole bunch of awesome new abilities! On top of that, there will be a slew of new features for role players and builders alike!
All of these new features have been tested by our awesome helpers, but they are only a small group of people. There may be unforeseen issues that arise when we release this new server to everyone, so continue reading but keep in mind...

Hi everyone!
The elders, helpers, and moderators have all been working very hard over the past months, and I am elated to announce that a new Creative 1.8 server is nearly ready to be launched! There will be more details coming later, but for now, here are the questions I can answer for you!
New Creative?! Aren't we already on 1.8?
Actually, no. Creative is currently on Minecraft 1.7, with a plugin that gives us some 1.8 items, like banners and Prismarine. But it's a really old plugin that isn't updated anymore, and it has a lot of bugs in it.
What will happen with my plots? Will the map be reset?
I am planning on migrating the current creative map to the new server, so your builds will not be lost. BigCreative is going to be a little trickier to deal with because of how we are restructuring the server, but rest assured that I will do everything I can to keep those builds too.

For those of you who are somewhat new to The Sandlot, you might not have heard about the Elder rank. If you see someone with a blue star (*) next to their name, they are an Elder. This means that they possess the following qualities:
- A longtime community member of The Sandlot.
- A great builder.
- A high technical proficiency of Minecraft game mechanics.
- A person who contributes to discussions on the forums with great feeback on the pros and cons of potential changes or decisions that The Sandlot goes through as the community grows.

All servers will be unavailable for a short time, and the rest of the maintenance window will require restarts several times on all servers. I will be online at the time and informing you via in-game chat when I need to restart a particular server. The maintenance will consist of security updates for the underlying OS and database maintenance.

I will be spending the next three evenings working on server maintenance. I will need to work on server and plugin updates for the Lobby, Parkour, Skyblock, and Hardcore.
You will be notified via alert when the maintenance will happen, sometime between 8pm and midnight Arizona time. You can find what time that is for you here: http://everytimezone.com/#2015-6-8,900,cn3
Only one server at a time will be offline, which will hopefully minimize your disappointment that you can't play on your favorite server for a while.
Thank you for your patience and understanding, and I apologize that I have to do this maintenance during peak playtime for many of you.
