Resource World? Another possibility that has worked well on other servers is to have resettable resource world. Basically just portal or warp that takes you to linked map with all regular resources, but gets reset every week. You can strip all resources and leave the home server more unscathed. Allows players to explore unclaimed land and not have every village,temple or fort cleaned out already. Just a thought...not sure if feasible on Sandlot.
It wasn't for this purpose, though. It was because we had a limited map that was already fully generated and therefore could not get certain new 1.6 items such as nametags and horse armor. Doing this again in Easy would be fine but IMHO it violates the "legit" moniker of SVS. I like that the SVS map is completely legit. There are already plenty of ways in SVS to quickly get to distant, unclaimed places with plenty of resources laying around. But if necessary, what about a Frontier "warp" that leads to a distant, enclosed area that is fairly large, where claiming isn't allowed? I'd volunteer to be Johnny Appleseed once every week or two and go replant trees.
