Hello, I have not played in a few days, but today I cannot chat on various servers. I am running Minecraft for Java but not the latest Minecraft update. I am running 1.21.11. I can see others chat messages, but when I attempt to chat I get "Chat is not allowed by account settings...". Have I been muted? Or is this a glitch? Thank you. -eab
You are not muted. Try to use the prefix for the server, even when you are in that server... so /l for Lobby or /e for Easy, etc.
I found the above methods worked. Going through it, I learned that any restriction at all on your Microsoft Xbox account will enable that chat restriction. I had to enable stuff I would rather not have. Not an exhaustive study, so it could be more selective. Annoyed.
@CoolGuyIsTheBes may of had a similar issue, he was in easy and couldn't chat, so he used /l. Possibly related?
I could not even type a slash. The fix by KRiskKaT was correct. My dad had to open up some privacy settings at xbox. Nothing had been modified previously though. Thanks.
LazBGI couldn't chat in arenas but now can in parkour, @MrCharleau Can't chat in Parkour, not sure about other servers
