Yes. At the end of each area are pressure plates. Step on them and you will get permission to enter the next area, and permission to use the lobby warp sign for that area. If you die, you can use a lobby sign to warp back to the start of the area where you died. Anytime while the map is open (at least through Halloween) you can then return to any map part that you have completed.
The spider... I scared me so bad I fell out of my chair (Well it's easy for me to fall out because I always am on my tippy toes) But I thought that was a new type of spider! Like save meh!

im happy with 6th ... then I got bored and found you can kinda spam the boss fight sign so this happened: ._. so then i fought (weakly) against about 15 of the boss (and died)
