Apologies if this is explained somewhere, but I haven't found it. My son plays on Java and is whitelisted (this account). He's asking if I can join as well to play with him, but I have a Switch so Bedrock edition. I learned that the Sandlot supports both, but what I'm wondering is, does it support both in the same world? I.e would we be able to play together or is it essentially parallel servers? Many thanks!
Hi and no apologies! Yes, you can both(he on java and you on bedrock) play in the same world on the sandlot. Do you have a second account(for the switch/bedrock) whitelisted on the server as well?
Brilliant, thanks! That is great to know. I just got Minecraft on the switch recently and haven't applied to get whitelisted yet, was waiting for the answer!
We do have detailed instructions for most bedrock platforms in the FAQ area; the Switch one is popular: https://www.sandlotminecraft.com/pages/bedrock-nintendo-switch/ Connect on Nintendo Switch | The Sandlot - A Family-Friendly Minecraft Community
Thanks all, I joined as myself (this account!) and got the confirmation of whitelisting, but when I try to join oit says I'm not whitelisted. Is the whitelisting case sensitive? I'm showing up here as Cobwebkettle but my actual gamer tag is CobwebKettle if that matters at all. Anything else I can try? I added SandlotMC as a friend.
I do Java and bedrock on the switch. When I got my switch whitisted it took a bit for SandlotMC to friend me back. I suggest waiting a bit longer, but if it takes to long you can message the moderators for help I know the moderators @Firepyth, @SupersonicE9 are on the forums daily.
Me again ... I seem to have lost The Sandlot server. I still have Sandlot as a friend, but can no longer find the option to connect. I feel like I'm losing my mind here! Haha. Anything else I should try? I've looked at the instructions linked above, but the options don't show up the same as what happens for me. Thanks again!
Ok. Now I am getting a message that Sandlot is an older version of Minecraft so I can't connect. I know you can play older versions on Java but is that possible on Switch?
No it isn’t sadly The only way you will be able to play on the sandlot using the switch, is, waiting for either @waseric, @c0wg0d, or @bizarr0 to update the sandlot for bedrock edition. And I think waseric is the one who normally updates the server. So you just have to wait I’m sorry
I just saw this thread. I know we have players playing on Sandlot currently who use a switch, so it should be possible, I’m just not knowledgeable about non-Java editions of Minecraft. Let me tag a few people that might be able to help so we can get you back online! @LifeLearner @TwistyYarn @bizarr0
Abbz05_ Our logs show that .Cobwebkettle was able to play on Sandlot on 1 October (after this post). -------------------------------------------- CobwebKettle Sometimes Bedrock Minecraft accounts are set to automatically update to the newest version. But The Sandlot cannot automatically update to the newest Minecraft version, so our server will lag behind a little bit. We have to be sure that the plugins we use are updated before we can update the server. We use lots of plugins from third-party developers: chat, economies, grief protection, etc.. Sometimes, parts of Sandlot (lobby) can be updated, but specific other servers might not be updated at the same time. If you have a way to change your settings, so that they don't automatically update you to the latest version, then you won't get locked out of Sandlot after an update. We have a thread that our Admins use to let us know when servers are updated for Java and Bedrock Minecraft. You can use this thread to let you know when it is time to update your game to the newest version, and still be able to join Sandlot. https://www.sandlotminecraft.com/th...sandlot-using-a-small-help-guide.35045/page-7 Sometimes, the Admins make a separate thread with update information, like this one. https://www.sandlotminecraft.com/th...1-9-the-copper-age-drop-support-status.39510/ You can find both of those threads in our Get Help forum. It is the top forum on the Forums page, and it is also accessible from the dropdown menu on the homepage using the link named "Help". https://www.sandlotminecraft.com/forums/get-help.17/
Yes! I learned from sad experience NOT to update Bedrock game until I've been given the word that Sandlot has updated.
When I get back this weekend, I plan to look at getting the server updated to support the latest versions of clients. My internet is very spotty where I’m at right now.
